So far in Japan, there are twelve different Jokaso groups depending on the wastewater quality in each discharge branch and are divided into three categories according to use scale: type for from 5 to 10 users is small-scale Jokaso for households; type for from 11 to 50 users is medium-scale Jokaso for residential groups, and type for 51 users or more is large-scale Jokaso for apartment blocks, schools, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, offices, etc. The structural complexity and quality of wastewater treatment of each group or each type of Jokaso scale has different technological requirements.
- Small-scale Jokaso with treatment capacity from 1 to 2m3/day and night, often uses exposed ventilation technology. Model signs of firms for this type of Jokaso are different such as:
+ To Kubota, it is model HCZ, KZ or KXF depending on output standard of BOD, N and P.
+ To Housetec, it is model KTG, KGRN or KBR depending on output standard of BOD, N and P.
+ To Fuji Clean, it is CEx.
+ To Fudeso, it is FS-S-xP.

In order to increase stability of the system and minimize risks during operation, Fudeso replaced the process of exposed ventilation technology, successfully applied the AAO-MBBR process to model FS-S-xP of the company. Model FS-S-xP was installed and successfully used in more than 20 projects nationwide. This partly confirms quality of the treatment system, it is also partly a great motivation for Fudeso staff to continue researching and improving the technology to provide customers with best products.
Medium-scale Jokaso with treatment capacity from 2 to less than 10m3/day and night, often uses MBBR technology. The special feature of this scale is that the system is usually integrated with Airlift Pump to minimize power costs during operation, as well as the initial investment costs.

To Fudeso, it is FS-A-xP or FS-B-xP depending on output standard of BOD, N and P.
Large-scale Johkasou with treatment capacity of from 10m3/day and night, often uses MBBR technology, in some special cases (such as special requirements on standards of output treatment, water reuse, or installation space), Aeroten technology, MBR technology, or combination with RO filtration, etc. can be used.

To Fudeso, it is FS-A-xP, FS-B-xP, FS-H-xP depending on output standard of BOD, N and P.
